Tragic incident involving the death of a toddler is under investigation

BONDUEL, WI – Authorities responded to a disturbing 911 call reporting that a toddler had been struck by a vehicle at a residence Wednesday evening. Several police officers and rescue workers rushed to the scene of the accident.

Upon arrival, first responders determined that cardiopulmonary resuscitation was being performed on the five-month-old female infant. Bonduel EMS and Shawano Ambulance teams responded to the scene and immediately requested assistance from ThedaStar Helicopter for an urgent medical evacuation to a Green Bay area hospital.

Despite extensive life-saving efforts, the toddler succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the hospital.

The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office – Detective Division and Bonduel Police Department maintained a presence at the scene, with full cooperation from all individuals involved, including the parents and driver of the vehicle. The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted in processing and mapping the crime scene.

The incident remains under investigation and no further details are available at this time. Out of respect for the privacy of the family and everyone affected by this devastating event, authorities are refraining from releasing any further information at this time.

The Wisconsin State Patrol, Bonduel EMS, Bonduel Fire Department, Shawano Ambulance, ThedaStar and the Shawano County Coroner’s Office all assisted both the Bonduel Police Department and the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office.
