Deputies arrest suspect after stabbing in residential complex

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has located and arrested Da’Shawn Larkeith Johnson. He was arrested on a snowy road around 7:15 p.m. Saturday night. One of the responding officers, Garrett Hunter, was notified by dispatch en route to the scene of a private vehicle taking the victim to AnMed Health Medical Center. Hunter observed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and followed them to the hospital. After arriving at the hospital, Hunter noticed a knife handle protruding from the victim’s lower back. According to Anderson Police Chief Stewart, this is a domestic incident and the victim is in stable condition as of 11 a.m. Saturday morning. During the investigation, officers determined the suspect, identified as Da’Shawn Larkeith Johnson, was at the victim’s home visiting the children, so he was supervised. Johnson and the victim argued before the victim was stabbed. Police are looking for Johnson because he has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Johnson was last seen wearing a multi-colored shirt, black sweatpants and tan mules, officials said. According to APD, Johnson is originally from Orangeburg, South Carolina, and should be considered armed and dangerous. Anderson police are searching for an “armed and dangerous” suspect following a stabbing at an Anderson County apartment complex.

Officers responded to a stabbing at the Raintree Apartments on Marchbanks Avenue in Anderson, South Carolina, around 6:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 6.
