21-year-old woman arrested as part of investigation into double murder in Coventry

A 21-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting a man who was allegedly involved in a double murder.

Detectives arrested the woman on Tuesday morning at an address in the Tile Hill district of Coventry, police said.

She was arrested in connection with the murder of the 28-year-old Daniel Shaw and the disappearance of Jonny Robbins33, who was presumably kidnapped and killed.

According to police, the woman was ordered to surrender her passport and released on bail pending further questioning next month.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Mallett, asking for further information, said: “We have made significant progress in this complex investigation.”

“I have a dedicated team of detectives working on this investigation, but we need the Coventry community to stand up to those who spread fear and intimidation in their communities and prevent this from happening again.”

He added that two innocent men had lost their lives “in the most horrific circumstances” and that investigators were fighting for justice.

Mr. Shaw was found dead of gunshot wounds to the chest on March 25, four days after Mr. Robbins disappeared in the same area.

Police believe he was kidnapped and taken to Mr Shaw’s house, where he was tortured and killed, but his body has not been found.

Two men, aged 22 and 47, were previously arrested on suspicion of Mr Shaw’s murder and released pending the outcome of investigations.
