Peeping Tom Arrested After Attacking Police Officers in Irving – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

A man who was charged several years ago with filming under women’s clothing was arrested earlier this week after attacking a police officer who tried to arrest him for taking photos under women’s clothing at an Irving store, authorities said.

According to Irving Police, officers were called to the 4100 block of W. Airport Freeway around 12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1, to assist another officer.

Upon arrival, Irving Police officers learned that anti-theft personnel had informed an off-duty uniformed Ore City Police officer who was inside the store that a man was taking photographs under women’s clothing.

Authorities said the officer then approached the suspect, identified as 42-year-old Keevis Holland, and attempted to detain him in handcuffs on suspicion of making violent video recordings. While handcuffed, Holland reportedly turned around and struck the officer in the face multiple times with his fists and the loose handcuffs.

Each time Holland struck the officer, the handcuffs caused cuts to the officer’s head, police said. As a result of the attack, the officer fell to the ground and dropped his Taser.

Irving police said Holland then grabbed the Taser and aimed it at the injured officer, which left him “in fear of serious bodily injury or death due to the possibility that the defendant could incapacitate him with the Taser and take his weapon away.”

Holland reportedly ran from the officer, who chased him out of the store and into the parking lot, where Holland was seen getting into a gray Dodge Ram truck.

The police department said they learned the truck was registered in Holland by checking its license plate, and its photo from its Texas driver’s license positively identified it as the suspect.

Holland was arrested on Tuesday, July 2, and booked into the Suzanne Lee Kays Detention Center in Dallas. He is charged with aggravated battery on a peace officer, aggravated battery by an officer, assault causing bodily harm, fleeing arrest in a vehicle, and robbery of a firearm from an officer. His bail was set at $152,000.

In April 2017, Holland was arrested by Dallas police for using his cellphone to film a video up a Walmart customer’s skirt. At the time, a security guard told police that Holland had been caught on surveillance video following a woman through the store with his cellphone up her skirt.

According to court documents, Holland followed another woman in the same Walmart in March 2017 and also filmed a video under her skirt.

Irving police did not release any details about the officer’s condition after the attack.
