65-year-old man attacked on Linden Boulevard in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, NY – Authorities are seeking information regarding a person involved in an assault that occurred at 2520 Linden Boulevard on Thursday, June 20 at approximately 5:47 p.m.

A 65-year-old male victim was struck in the face by an unknown individual who then fled westbound on Linden Boulevard. The victim sustained a minor injury to his left eye and was transported by EMS to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect is described as a man approximately 6′ tall with medium skin tone, black hair and a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black face mask, a black long-sleeved shirt with white stripes, black pants and black shoes.

  • Local man charged with murder in connection with Bridgeton stabbing

    Bridgeton, New Jersey – A 21-year-old local man was arrested this morning and charged with the stabbing death of another man on Atlantic Street. The arrest was made by detectives from the Bridgeton Police Department and the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office.

    Selvin Omar Garcia-Ramirez, of W. Commerce St., was arrested around 9 a.m. on Cedar St. He is charged with murder and weapons offenses, according to complaints filed by Bridgeton Detective Sergio Ruiz. The incident, which police describe as an isolated incident, occurred early in the morning.

    Bridgeton police responded to the 200 block of Atlantic St. around 3:15 a.m., where they found the victim, 26-year-old Edwin Lopez-Parra, bleeding and unconscious outside his home. Lopez-Parra was pronounced dead en route to Inspira Hospital in Vineland.

    Bridgeton Police Chief Michael Gaimari confirmed that the victim and suspect knew each other, but did not provide further details about the motive. Garcia-Ramirez is currently facing a police arraignment and is being held without bail in the Cumberland County Jail.

    Police Chief Gaimari praised the prompt and thorough work of police officers and investigators from both agencies, which led to the quick indictment and arrest of the suspect.

  • 17-year-old charged with attempted murder and armed robbery

    CHICAGO, IL – A 17-year-old man was charged with attempted murder and armed robbery after he was arrested in the 1800 block of S. Komensky Ave. on July 5.

    The juvenile offender is accused of shooting and injuring a 19-year-old woman after violently taking her property in the 3900 block of W. 21st Street on June 16 at approximately 1:10 p.m. The charges include one count of attempted first-degree murder and one count of armed robbery with use of a firearm and assault.

    The detention hearing is scheduled for July 6 at 2600 S. California. Further details are not available at this time.
