Fatal car crash claims life of Midland man | Texas

PRESIDIO, Texas — A Midlands man was killed in a high-speed car crash on Highway 67 last night.

Deputies responded to calls about a vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 67 at a high rate of speed around 11 p.m. Shortly afterward, 911 received reports of a single-vehicle rollover. Deputies located a black pickup truck about two miles north of Shafter. The driver, a 40-year-old man from Midland, Texas, was found unresponsive in his vehicle at the bottom of a hill after he missed a curve and rolled over, according to Chief Deputy J. Nuez.

Authorities urge travelers to be cautious on Highway 67 between Marfa and Presidio, especially on weekends and holidays when traffic increases significantly.
