Lincoln man crashes motorcycle and is arrested after pursuit by Nebraska State Troopers

According to the Nebraska State Patrol, a Lincoln man was arrested Wednesday evening following a pursuit by Nebraska State Troopers in Lancaster County. At about 8:10 p.m., a trooper saw a motorcycle driving at a high rate of speed on Cornhusker Highway in east Lincoln, according to the Nebraska State Patrol. He stopped, but the motorcycle fled at a high rate of speed, authorities said. The Nebraska State Patrol said the trooper initiated the pursuit as the motorcyclist exited Lincoln eastbound on Cornhusker and continued onto Highway 6 in Waverly. The motorcycle then turned into a residential area and the officer discontinued the pursuit “out of concern for public safety,” authorities said. A short time later, another trooper saw the motorcycle crashed in the parking lot of Waverly High School, according to the Nebraska State Patrol. Police officers and a Lancaster County officer deputy called an ambulance and rendered aid to the motorcyclist, who was identified as 31-year-old Jarret Bruckner, authorities said. He was taken to Bryan Health West Campus with minor injuries and taken into custody after medical clearance to avoid flight arrest, willful reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol over .15 and traffic violations, according to the Nebraska State Patrol. A Lincoln man was arrested Wednesday evening after a pursuit by Nebraska State Troopers in Lancaster County.

According to the Nebraska State Patrol, a trooper saw a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed on Cornhusker Highway in east Lincoln around 8:10 p.m.

The officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but the motorcycle fled at a high rate of speed, authorities said.

The Nebraska State Patrol said the trooper initiated the pursuit as the motorcyclist exited Lincoln eastbound on Cornhusker and continued onto Highway 6 in Waverly.

The motorcycle then turned into a residential area and the officer discontinued the pursuit “out of concern for public safety,” authorities said.

According to the Nebraska State Patrol, another trooper noticed the motorcycle crashed in the Waverly High School parking lot a short time later.

Police officers and a Lancaster County deputy called an ambulance and rendered aid to the motorcyclist, who was identified as 31-year-old Jarret Bruckner, authorities said.
