One person arrested after standoff in Milwaukee

According to the Wauwatosa Police Department, on July 6, a person was arrested near 72nd and Adler Streets in Milwaukee after a standoff and brief foot chase. Police said an officer attempted to pull over a motorist around 10:40 a.m. near 68th Street and Mount Vernon Avenue in Milwaukee. The vehicle then fled after an initial stop. Officers did not pursue the vehicle. They instead responded to the address listed on the vehicle’s registration near 72nd and Adler Streets. Police said officers spotted the driver of the vehicle eventually entering the building when they arrived. A barrier was taped off and officers attempted to make contact with the driver inside. Other people living in the building exited the building on their own. After nearly two hours, the driver fled the building. A brief foot chase ensued and the driver was eventually arrested. No injuries were reported.
