Major delays at Atlanta airport after international flights diverted due to weather – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — Customs and Border Protection said there were significant delays Friday night at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

They say eight international flights originally bound for Atlanta had to be diverted to other airports due to poor weather conditions and a stopover at Atlanta’s airport.

When conditions improved, flights were able to land in Atlanta.

As they all landed at approximately the same time, there was a large influx of passengers trying to clear customs at the same time.

Officers were still required to properly inspect what passengers brought into the country.

All delayed passengers finally managed to get through after 1am.
