MGM doctor suspended for lack of attendance

Warangal: District Collector Satya Sharada Devi expressed his displeasure over the poor condition of the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital and the dereliction of duty of its staff during an inspection on Saturday.

After visiting different wards, the staff member spoke to the patients and enquired about their facilities and treatment. She also visited the outpatient clinic and online registrations and went through the records of diagnoses and medical tests.

When the Collector noticed that one of the doctors had registered his attendance for the entire month of July, he directed the District Medical Officer Dr. Vani to immediately suspend the doctor. She asked the District Medical Officer, Dr. Vani, to issue a notice of complaint to the staff for not registering biometric attendance details.

Strict action would be taken against officials who were negligent in their duties, Devi warned. Customs officials Sadhya Rani, RDO Krishna Veni, Superintendent Dr Chandrasekhar and RMO Murali Srinivas were also present during the inspection.
