Savannah Bananas Bring Their Unique “Banana Ball” to Buffalo

As part of the Savannah Bananas’ Banana Ball World Tour, some members of the team started Saturday’s day like many do, with their coffee. Fans got to meet first base dance coach Maceo Harrison, and none other than the mascot himself, Splitz, while they enjoyed their morning brew.

“We get to see the fans early, way before the games, way before the pregame, so we can have a little intimate moment with the people inside and then enjoy some Dunkins and donuts as well,” Harrison said.

Members of the Savannah Bananas team helped serve breakfast and gifts to guests from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday morning. They will be back at Sahlen Field tonight and tomorrow to bring a new kind of baseball to Buffalo fans.

This baseball game, called “Banana Ball,” takes place in a circus atmosphere with music, dancing and other entertainment for the whole family. We met one of the players to explain what Banana Ball is.

“Banana ball is not like baseball, it’s a whole different atmosphere. It’s faster, it’s faster paced, it’s more entertaining, we have strategy games, we can have fun going home or hitting a home run and then we entertain the crowd,” Harrison said.
