Woman found dead on Jacksonville’s Westside Saturday morning

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are investigating the case of a woman found dead on the Westside Saturday morning.

Around 7:30 a.m., a person called 911 to report a woman dead in a vacant lot in the 1700 block of Pickettville Road, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

The JSO is currently investigating and the woman’s death is “not classified.” The agency said the woman is white and they are working to contact the person who called 911.

JSO Sergeant Joshua Catir said it appears a crime may have occurred early on, but added that the agency is not releasing further details and investigators are still working to determine a timeline.
