Teenager arrested for child rape in Sunamgan

The arrested person is 22-year-old Tofazzal, who lives in Lakshmipur village in Lakshmipur upazila.

Earlier, Tofazzal had gone to the girl’s house at 12:00 noon on Wednesday (July 3) and raped the victim as there was no one there except the girl. Then the girl tactfully fled from her house and sought shelter in a neighbour’s house.

The girl is currently undergoing treatment at Sunaganj Sadar Hospital.

Later, the victim’s father filed a complaint at Dowarabazar police station on Friday evening.

Following the case, the police arrested the accused within a short time from Lakshmipur district of the upazila, said Badrul Hasan, the duty officer of Dowarabazar police station.

The arrested persons were brought before the court, the OK added.
