1 dead, man arrested – NBC 6 South Florida

According to police, a man was shot and killed in a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood on Saturday and another man was arrested in connection with the shooting.

Officers arrived at the 100 block of Nurmi Drive around 10:49 a.m., Fort Lauderdale police said.

There the victim was pronounced dead.

Images from the crime scene show a large house in the multimillion-dollar Nurmi Isles neighborhood cordoned off with yellow police tape.

“I heard someone was shot,” said Raul Fernandez, a shocked visitor to the neighborhood. “It’s like something out of Miami Vice. I never expected something like this… I don’t know how to handle something like this.”

The suspected shooter was arrested, authorities said.

The identities of the suspect and the victim have not been disclosed.

Authorities said they were still investigating the incident, which was “domestic in nature,” police said.
