“Upon arrival at the residence, the affidavit identified himself to Mr. Jackson as a law enforcement officer, and Mr. Jackson permitted the affidavit and other law enforcement to enter his residence for a probation search,” Williams said. “Affiant questioned Mr. Jackson about the presence of drugs in the apartment and he admitted that there was a bag of methamphetamine on his bedside table in the bedroom.”

Williams said when he searched Jackson, he also found a bag of methamphetamine in his right pocket. Both bags of drugs, Williams said, were confiscated by authorities and sent for further testing.

“The packaged weight of the two bags of methamphetamine was 1.2 grams,” he said. “The drug evidence was submitted to the TBI crime lab for testing.”

On February 10, Williams said the official forensic chemistry report was completed and stated that the net weight of methamphetamine found in Jackson’s home was 0.86 grams.

Jackson was given a $5,000 bond and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 15 in General Sessions Court.
