SoundHound AI (NASDAQ:SOUN) stock is in the news on Thursday after artificial intelligence (AI) The voice solutions company announced a new partnership with confusion.

The collaboration between these two companies will bring Perplexity’s Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities to SoundHound Chat AI. The company notes that this combination will create one of the most advanced voice assistants on the market.

Mike Zagorsek, Chief Operations Officer at SoundHound AI, said this about working with Perplexity.

“By integrating Perplexity search capabilities with SoundHound Chat AI, we are raising the bar for voice assistants and the types of queries they can handle with ease. Where this technology is already used in vehicles, we are observing that usage habits are changing significantly – many times over. We are confident that this improvement will delight users even more as more people choose speaking over typing.”

SOUN stock market movement on Thursday

Despite the announcement of the collaboration between SoundHound AI and Perplexity, SOUN shares are not seeing much activity today. As of this writing, only about 12 million shares have traded. This is well below the daily average trading volume of around 68.8 million shares.

SOUN shares have fallen slightly since Thursday afternoon. However, shares are up 131.1% year-to-date.
