You don’t even have to be a big baseball fan to enjoy a game of Banana Ball.

“The entertainment. I love the entertainment. They get the audience involved. It’s really fun and exciting,” Kwitzer said.

The arrival of the Bananas was highly anticipated, not only by fans here in Buffalo, but by fans around the world. 2 On Your Side spoke with fans who traveled hours from neighboring states, like Ohio, just to be at the game today.

Other fans simply arrived early to enjoy the hype ahead of what is not just a match, it is a spectacle in its own right.

“I’m excited. So this is the second or third year in a row that I’ve tried to get tickets through the lottery, and this is the first year they’re in Buffalo, so I’m really fortunate to have been chosen and to have my friends and family here tonight,” said John Carvallo.

It wasn’t easy for Buffalo fans to get a ticket to any of the three Banana Ball games. That’s mainly due to the sheer number of people excited for the Bananas to visit Sahlen Stadium for the first time in their history.

Around 45,000 tickets have been sold for the three matches taking place this weekend.
