Authorities say water main was not ruptured near iconic downtown Atlanta restaurant – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — Crews are responding to what was initially reported as a water main break in downtown Atlanta Saturday morning.

The Atlanta Department of Watershed Management reported a break at 216 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE, which is near Myrtle Street and the iconic Mary Mac’s Tea Room.

The officials later corrected themselves by News on channel 2 to say there was no pipeline rupture in the area. Instead, they say crews were replacing a broken valve.
