Vikings rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson reportedly died in accident

According to reports, 24-year-old Minnesota Vikings rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson has died in a tragic car accident in Maryland.

Details are currently unknown, but his former high school, Dr. Henry A. Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, where he grew up, paid tribute to him.

His mother also confirmed his death to TMZ, while Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning tweeted: “RIP Khyree… I love you so much I have no words. I will miss your smile. Great player, better person.”

Oregon Ducks reporters Scott Reed and James Crepea also reported on Jackson’s death.

The Vikings selected Jackson from Oregon with the No. 108 pick in the fourth round of this year’s NFL Draft, and he received rave reviews based on his early performance in training camp.

He was one of the best stories of the 2024 NFL Draft after giving up football in 2017 and taking a job at a local grocery store before giving the sport another chance in 2019.

Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jonathan Greenard tweeted the following Saturday morning.

This is an evolving story.
