Active murder investigation in Fullerton – Update

Fullerton Police Department officers responded to a call in the 2400 block of W. Valencia Ave. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at approximately 6:13 p.m., on reports of a fight in progress.

Upon arrival, officers found two 20-year-old men lying in the street with significant stab wounds. Fullerton Police officers immediately began life-saving measures on both victims. One male victim was transported to a local trauma center where he was pronounced deceased. The second victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

Fullerton Police Detectives arrived that evening and immediately began their investigation. They worked diligently, interviewing several people, searching the crime scene, and collecting evidence. Detectives were able to develop several leads that led to the identification of a suspect.

UPDATE: Less than 48 hours after the crime, on July 5, 2024, Fullerton Police detectives arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile for his involvement in the murder. The juvenile was transported to the Orange County Juvenile Detention Center where he was arrested on suspicion of murder. Due to his age, no further identifying information will be released.
