Water main break reported near popular downtown Atlanta restaurants, authorities say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Several buildings are at risk of having dry faucets Saturday morning after a 6-inch water main ruptured, according to the Atlanta Department of Watershed Management.

The restaurant is located at 216 Ponce de Leon, which is listed as Papi’s Cuban and Caribbean Grill. It is also close to Mary Mac’s Tea Room.

Crews have begun making repairs, the department said. The outage could affect seven homes, two apartment complexes and two fire hydrants.

From Buckhead to Peachtree City, several other water main breaks have hit the city this week. And just over a month ago, two major water main breaks shut down much of the city, impacting office and government buildings, public attractions, businesses and homes for days.
