Police are searching for a brutal Manhattan man who beat up a senior citizen in a random attack

Manhattan police released images of a suspect who allegedly punched a senior citizen earlier this week.

According to law enforcement, the 66-year-old victim was talking on the phone around 11:48 a.m. on May 8 while outside 369 3rd Ave. was walking in Murray Hill when the suspect approached the victim.

Without saying a word, police said, the animal delivered a violent blow to the senior citizen’s face, causing a wound so severe that the victim bled from his left eye. Police said the attack was unprovoked and the victim and suspect did not know each other.

The perpetrator fled the scene shortly before officers from the 13th Precinct arrived.

EMS responded to the scene and transported the injured man – who also suffered from bruising and swelling to his face and around his eye – to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

Police describe the suspect as a dark-skinned man wearing a dark baseball cap, blue T-shirt, black pants and white sneakers. He also carried a book bag.

There have been no arrests so far and the investigation is ongoing.
