Man shot in parking lot in west Lincoln

LINCOLN, Nebraska (KLKN) – A 25-year-old man was shot and killed Friday night in west Lincoln.

The shooting occurred around 10 p.m. in a parking lot at the corner of South Coddington Avenue and West A Street, police said.

Lincoln Police responded to a report of shots fired and vehicles fleeing the scene.

A Lincoln man was found in the area with a gunshot wound, police said.

He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Police did not disclose exactly where the man was found, but several police cars were seen at the corner of South Folsom Street and West A Street, about a mile from the crime scene.

A reporter from Channel 8 also saw blood on the floor there.

According to LPD, several people were present when the man was shot.

Officers are working to identify witnesses and a suspect. No one has been arrested yet.

The parking lot tape is near Amigos. There is also a Russ’s Market and several other stores nearby.

Investigators will remain on site to process evidence.
