Rockledge Police Officer Bobby Weigel retires after 42 years of dedicated service

His ID number 199 is honorably retired

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – The City of Rockledge and the Rockledge Police Department honored Officer Robert “Bobby” Weigel, who retired after 42 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Rockledge.

Over the course of his long career, Bobby has served as a patrol officer, traffic cop, instructor, traffic investigator, detective, and most recently as a school police officer.

Interesting Fact: Bobby wrote his first traffic ticket to Director of Public Safety/Police Chief Christopher Crawford when Director Crawford was still a young driver.

“Officer Weigel is part of what makes Rockledge Rockledge,” said Director Crawford.

“His dedication to a community over 42 years is almost unparalleled. The department and the city are better because of him. His ID number, 199, will be honorably retired in recognition of his service. He will be missed – and I earned this ticket.”
