Atlanta Braves news: Eddie Rosario returns, series-opening loss, and more

The Atlanta Braves have announced a series of roster moves ahead of Friday night’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Most notably, the club signed outfielder Eddie Rosario to a minor league contract after he was released by the Washington Nationals earlier this week.

He’ll be assigned to Gwinnett, but given the number of outfielders the Braves have used this season, Rosario could get another chance in the big leagues.

Then the club selected outfielder Eli White’s contract and sent Forrest Wall to Triple-A Gwinnett. To make room on the 40-man roster, Ray Kerr was transferred to the 60-day injured list.

White has yet to make a major league appearance this season, but he has been productive in Triple-A, hitting seven home runs to go along with his .294 average.
