South Texas Braces for Tropical Storm Beryl

CORPUS CHRISTI, TexasFRIDAY, JULY 5 – 11:30 PM CT – Houston, I wish we had better news to send you to sleep.

The latest forecast from the National Hurricane Center shows a renewed push eastward of what will likely become Hurricane Beryl again.

Simply put, this increases the likelihood of hurricane impacts on the Houston area.

The hurricane watch has been expanded to parts of Brazoria County.

Meanwhile, storm surge monitoring has been extended to High Island in Galveston County.

Voluntary evacuations are already underway in Matagorda County.

FRIDAY JULY 5 – 9:00 p.m. CT – As Tropical Storm Beryl enters the Gulf of Mexico, the former Category 5 hurricane is expected to intensify again before making final landfall along the Texas Gulf Coast.
