Authorities say a man has died after a boating accident in Piermont

Authorities are investigating a fatal boating accident in Piermont that left one man dead. New Hampshire State Police said the Marine Patrol received a report of a drowning on Lake Tarleton in Piermont around 9:30 a.m. Friday. Authorities said two men were fishing when their canoe capsized and both men fell into the water. According to authorities, both men were not wearing life jackets, although they had some in the canoe. State police said one man saw the other person lying face down in the water. First responders attempted to perform life-saving measures on the person, who was later pronounced dead. Authorities have identified the victim as Michael A. Johnson, 58, of Bedford.
