Coroner identifies three victims in fatal car crash

Medical examiners from the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office have released the identities of three people who died in a fatal traffic accident on Old Road Tuesday evening.

Brian White, 22, of Castaic, Nylah Blanchard, 16, of Adelanto, and Quinell Shelton, 15, of San Bernardino, died when they were thrown from the vehicle, according to information from the coroner’s office and the California Highway Patrol, which is investigating the crash.

Taylor Shani Roberson, 19, of Redlands, was arrested at 2:07 a.m. Wednesday at the CHP Newhall office.

The 2010 Toyota Camry she was driving went off the road at a high rate of speed after she failed to negotiate a curve on Old Road near Parker Road, according to the CHP. Her car struck a tree and then a light pole before catching fire, according to the CHP report. The vehicle’s occupants were not wearing seat belts, according to CHP officials.

A Gofundme campaign was launched to help Quinnell Shelton’s family.

“Quinell was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend. He loved playing sports, especially football and basketball,” a post on the fundraising website said. “We are raising money for his memorial. Hug your children today because tomorrow is nothing promised.”

The report stated that officers suspected Roberson was under the influence of alcohol and was showing signs of alcohol poisoning.

Her bail was listed at $100,000, according to LA County Sheriff’s Department arrest records available online. She is currently being held at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood.

Roberson is due in court on Monday.

The public prosecutor’s office was initially unable to provide any information on possible charges.
