Henderson woman arrested after shooting her husband in the back

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 41-year-old Henderson woman is charged with attempted murder after her husband was shot in the back Wednesday.

According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (Arizona), Amber Bender was arrested for attempted first-degree murder in connection with domestic violence.


Bender’s husband, whose identity was not disclosed in the report, was flown to a Las Vegas hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police said Friday.

Officers with the Mohae County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) were called to a home in Dolan Springs just after noon on Wednesday. A woman told police she shot her husband inside a home in the 17000 block of Needle Drive. When officers arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the back.

Dolan Springs is located about an hour and 15 minutes southeast of Las Vegas on US 93.

Officers and detectives located Bender, a Henderson resident, at another location and arrested her. She was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Center in Kingman.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
