Woman dies in motorcycle accident in Raleigh County on July 4

RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WVNS) — The investigation is ongoing after a woman was killed in a motorcycle crash in Raleigh County on July 4.

According to an incident report from West Virginia State Police Troop 6, patrol officers responded to a motorcycle accident in the 2300 block of Route 3, Hinton Road, in Raleigh County on Thursday, July 4, 2024. At the scene, it was determined that the passenger, identified as 68-year-old Katherine Ann Workman of Cyclone, had died at the scene from injuries sustained.

The driver of the motorcycle, 73-year-old Danny Franklin Workman, also of Cylcone, was taken to Raleigh General Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

According to the WVSP report, alcohol is believed to have played a role in the accident.

Since the investigation is still ongoing, it is currently unclear whether official charges have been filed.
