Trinity Bostic remains identified during murder investigation in Tennessee

Police in Hendersonville, Tennessee, have launched a homicide investigation after the remains of a young girl were found along a busy road in Middle Tennessee on Wednesday.

Investigators identified the victim as 17-year-old Trinity Bostic, who was reported missing in nearby Macon County on June 29, Hendersonville police said in a news release.

Police suspect foul play in the ongoing investigation. The death investigation is “essentially a murder investigation,” Sergeant Nicholas Edwards told USA TODAY. When asked if police had any suspects, he declined comment “to protect the integrity of the investigation.”

The remains were discovered July 3 in Hendersonville in a wooded area near Vietnam Veterans Boulevard and New Shackle Island Road by a Tennessee Department of Transportation contractor who was picking up roadside trash, police said.
