Salt Lake City man arrested after allegedly shooting two people in apartment complex

SALT LAKE CITY – Police announced that a Salt Lake City man was arrested after two men were shot during a fight at an apartment complex early Thursday morning.

Jose Jimenez-Mancilla, 22, was arrested on six counts of illegal use of a firearm and two counts of aggravated assault.

Police said the investigation began after receiving reports that someone had been shot at an apartment complex near 385 West. When police arrived, a 22-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds and a 24-year-old man had a gunshot wound.

Both victims were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect and both victims knew each other and officers were able to safely arrest Jimenez-Mancilla and confiscated a weapon at the scene.
