1 dead, 4 injured in high-speed collision on US 287 – Boulder Daily Camera

Due to a fatal accident, US 287 south of Oxford Road is closed.

According to Mountain View Fire Rescue’s Facebook post, one person was confirmed dead in the crash and four people were taken to the hospital.

According to Rick Tillery, spokesman for Mountain View Fire Rescue, two people at the scene refused treatment.

At 1:14 p.m., dispatch received a call that multiple cars were involved in a high-speed, head-on collision involving five vehicles, Tillery said.

The Colorado State Patrol and Boulder County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause of the accident and the Erie Police Department is on scene to assist with traffic control.

According to the post, US 287 may be closed to traffic in both directions for an extended period of time for investigation and cleanup.
