Woman shoots husband in northwest Arizona, police say

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A woman shot and killed her husband near Dolan Springs in northwest Arizona on Wednesday, police said.

Officials said they were called around noon by Amber Bender, 41, of Henderson, Nevada, who said she shot her husband at a home near the 17,000 block of Needle Dr.

Police found a man at the scene with a gunshot wound to the back. He was flown to a hospital in Las Vegas with life-threatening injuries.

Bender was located at a different location than the victim and arrested for attempted second-degree murder in connection with domestic violence. She was booked into the Mohave County Jail.

No further details were released. The investigation is ongoing.
