Woman arrested for assault after altercation in Viennese diner

An employee of the Carnegie Diner, 501 Maple Ave., W., reported to Vienna police on June 28 at 9:45 p.m. that a woman entered the restaurant through the back door and began behaving inappropriately. The woman allegedly attacked three employees and hurled racist insults at them, police said.

Police arrested the 41-year-old Vienna woman and took her to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where she was charged with simple assault and two counts of assault with bias. She was held without bail.

The woman was also banned from entering the bar and the police threatened to arrest her if she entered the bar again.
