Hudson Falls man arrested after toy gun incident

HUDSON FALLS – Police arrested a Hudson Falls man on six different charges Wednesday after he allegedly pointed a gun at people near Oak Street.

Hudson Falls Police arrested John Sawn III after being dispatched to the area of ​​Oak and John Streets because a man pointed a gun at two people.

“It was later determined that he was in possession of an imitation handgun,” Hudson Falls police reported in a press release.

Sawn was charged with two felonies: third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (a Class D felony), tampering with evidence (a Class E felony), and three misdemeanors: criminal possession of a weapon, false imprisonment, and menacing. He was also given a misdemeanor sentence.

Sawn was held for arraignment in Washington County Central District Court.
