South Carolina man dies after lighting fireworks on his head and they explode – WSB-TV Channel 2

SUMMERVILLE, SC — A South Carolina man has died after he lit a large “firework” on his head on the Fourth of July and it exploded.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office said 41-year-old Allen Ray McGrew placed the firework on his head and set it off around 10:20 a.m. in Summerville.

“The explosive device exploded on his head, causing massive head injuries,” the sheriff’s office said.

McGrew was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office are investigating the incident.

The MPs did not identify the “fireworks”.

Summerville is located about 100 miles from the Georgia border.
