A 36-year-old Wall Township High School teacher has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a student, Monmouth County District Attorney Raymond Santiago announced.

Julie Rizzitello of Brick Township submitted her resignation to the school district just days before her arrest Wednesday.

Rizzitello was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, third-degree witness tampering and three counts of fourth-degree sexual abuse.

Investigators found that Rizzitello had allegedly performed various sexual acts with the victim in at least three cities – Wall, Brick and Belmar – since the beginning of this year.

According to a now-removed teacher website, Rizzitello was in her 11th year as an English teacher for the school district.

A smiling selfie of the blonde, blue-eyed teacher was also removed from the district’s website.

Social media posts suggested that she was a married mother.

She was taken to the Monmouth County Jail to await a detention hearing in Monmouth County Superior Court.

The investigation involved both the Monmouth County District Attorney’s Special Victims Bureau and the Wall Police Department, with assistance from the Ocean County District Attorney’s Office and the Brick Township Police Department.

Second arrest of a teacher in Monmouth County within a week

Less than a week earlier, authorities announced the separate arrest of a 43-year-old Monmouth County teacher.

Allison Havemann-Niedrach of Howell was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree child endangerment for alleged activities with a student while she was at Freehold Intermediate School.

Both cases followed the April arrest of 37-year-old teacher Jessica Sawicki, whose case spanned at least three districts because she was accused of activities toward an underage student.
