A Louisiana woman accused of receiving more than $12,000 worth of fake tax returns has been arrested in Texas

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A St. Martinville woman accused of filing a false income tax return has been arrested.

The Louisiana Department of Revenue said, “Ashley Renee Seaux filed a false personal income tax return, along with a false W-2 form and a false proof of employment from a company that did not employ her.” Her income tax refund was over $12,000 .


LDR said she was arrested in Galveston, Texas, on May 1 and brought back to Louisiana. According to LDR, she was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail on Wednesday, May 8, and charged with filing false public records and felony theft.

The department said, “Seaux is the 74th person arrested as part of a joint effort by the Louisiana Department of Revenue and the state’s attorney general’s office to combat tax fraud.”
