3 dead, teenager arrested in drunk driving accident on Old Road in Castaic

CASTAIC, CA (July 5, 2024) – Three people were killed in a serious alcohol-related accident early Wednesday on Old Road near Parker Road.

The fatal drunken crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. when a teenage driver lost control of what was believed to be a Toyota Camry. The car then spun out of control at high speed, hitting a tree and a light pole before catching fire.

Shortly afterward, California Highway Patrol officers and Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived to investigate the accident. Firefighters extinguished the flames of the burning car and found three dead in the charred wreckage. Their injuries were so severe that officials could not identify them, describing them only as two men and a woman, possibly young adults.

However, the driver of the car exited the burning vehicle in an unknown condition. Police said she showed obvious signs of impairment and arrested her for drunk driving.

Authorities did not have any further information about this fatal accident, but will continue to investigate the case.
