Man flown to hospital by helicopter after fireworks accident in Decatur

DECATUR, Alabama — A man was flown to a hospital after an accident involving fireworks, according to Decatur police.

The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of Chadwell Street. Decatur police said they arrived to find the man with a hand injury.

The man was taken by ambulance to Decatur Morgan Hospital and later flown by helicopter to Huntsville Hospital for further treatment.
