1 dead, several injured – NBC Boston

Despite the Fourth of July and the festivities that come with it, it was a violent night in Boston that left one person dead and others injured.

Homicide investigators were on the scene Friday morning on Blue Hill Avenue in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood, where a person was shot shortly before 5:45 a.m. Friday, Boston police said.

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.

However, before that incident occurred, officers in Roxbury were called to a crime scene near Shawmut Avenue near Ramsey Park shortly after 1:30 a.m. Friday.

When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot. He was taken to the hospital where he died. His name was not immediately released.

At about the same time, police were investigating a shooting on Centre Street in Jamaica Plain – not far from the Jackson Square T-station.

There, officers found three people who had been shot. All of them were taken to hospital, but police believe their injuries are not life-threatening.

No arrests were made.

The shootings remain under investigation.
