Passaic City man arrested for lewdness on Garrett Mountain Reservation

Following an incident on the Garrett Mountain Reservation on the morning of June 22, 2024, a man was arrested and charged with lewdness.

Ruben R. Almeida Pimentel, 52, of Passaic City, was identified as a suspect after a female victim reported seeing a man masturbating in the driver’s seat of a Dodge Ram pickup truck with the door ajar. Pimentel was arrested on July 2, 2024, on the recommendation of the Passaic County District Attorney’s Office.

The victim, who was doing stretching exercises at the time, provided a detailed description of the suspect’s vehicle. The incident was initially documented by a sheriff’s patrol officer who arrived at the scene after meeting with the victim.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department of the PCSO conducted investigations that led to the identification of Pimentel. He was charged with one count of indecency, an offence that could endanger public order. Pimentel was released pending his first court appearance.

“All residents have the right to enjoy our county parks without witnessing indecent and illegal acts. PCSO does not tolerate illegal behavior,” said Gary Giardina, Passaic County Sheriff’s Deputy.
