Man abuses woman in street fight in Torquay

A man has been arrested for sexually assaulting a woman in Torquay. Local officers arrested the man after being informed of the assault in Factory Road at around 9.50am yesterday (Thursday 4 July).

According to police, a 27-year-old man abused a woman he knew. The incident occurred when the two were arguing on the street.

He was arrested and taken to the police station where he admitted the offence. Police said he was given a caution.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: “On Thursday 4 July, officers were on patrol in Factory Road, Torquay at around 9.50am when they were alerted to a sexual assault.

“A 27-year-old local man sexually assaulted a woman he knew by touching her during an argument. He was arrested and given a police caution after admitting the offence during questioning.”
