HPD searching for men involved in Sharpstown shooting

HOUSTON (KIAH) – A shooting occurred in Sharpstown at 8811 Gustine around 9:55 p.m. on July 4. According to preliminary reports, a man in his 20s was shot in the shoulder and transported to a local trauma center.

The motive is unknown. Lt. Willkens of the Houston Police Department (HPD) said the victim and his family were together enjoying fireworks in the parking lot outside their apartment when a sedan occupied by four men drove by and opened fire on the family. The suspects fled the scene. Eight gun shell casings were recovered at the scene.
