U.S. Women’s U-17 Team Calls Up Three NWSL Players for Atlanta Cup

The United States U-17 women’s national team will open an eight-day training camp in Atlanta on Monday as preparations continue for the 2024 U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.

U.S. coach Katie Schoepfer has called up 24 players, 14 of whom were part of the team that won the 2024 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Championship in February. Three players are playing in the NWSL: Melanie Barcenas and Kimmi Ascanio with the San Diego Wave and Kennedy Fuller with Angel City FC.

Two players will participate in their first official training camp with the U-17s: forwards Kylie Maxwell and Mary Long, daughter of current KC owners Chris and Angie Long.

• Friendly matches : During the camp, the United States will face the Brazil U-17 team on July 12 and 15 in closed-door matches.
