Dangerous heat persists in metro Atlanta – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — Dangerous heat remains forecast for the entire metro Atlanta area and much of north Georgia Friday.

Ashley Kramlich, Meteorologist, Weather Team 2 indicates that a heat advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Friday’s heat index is expected to rise to 108 degrees today, so parts of the Atlanta metro area have cooling centers open.

Kramlich said Friday marks 16 days of temperatures above 90 degrees.

Here are some recommendations to protect yourself from the sun and high temperatures:

  • Wear lightweight or moisture-wicking clothing
  • Take frequent breaks
  • To drink a lot of water
  • Plan activities for early morning or evening
