Temperatures around 100, perceived temperatures around 105

The ABC13 weather team has declared Friday a weather alert day.

It’s even hotter than Thursday. Thunderstorms will form towards the afternoon, but I think they will develop a little slower than Thursday, which means it should get hotter and wetter towards the afternoon.

Air temperatures on Friday will approach 100, with perceived temperatures or the Heat indexin some areas it approaches 105.

For this reason, a heat warning is in effect for the areas south of the James River from Friday 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Try to stay cool tomorrow and stay hydrated. If you have to be outside, take frequent breaks and try to find air conditioning.

A few storms will form in the afternoon and due to the heat and humidity, some of them could cause heavy fighting later in the day, so keep an eye on the radar as well.

Looking ahead to the weekend, it is still hot, but not quite as hot.

Maximum temperatures will be between 35 and 35 degrees Celsius, with perceived temperatures approaching 38 degrees Celsius, and there will be isolated thunderstorms every afternoon, probably more on Saturday than on Sunday as a front will pass over us on Saturday afternoon.

Looking ahead to next week, we will slowly but surely see those temperatures moderate to return to normal by mid to late next week. Additionally, the chance of rain (although no precipitation is in sight yet) seems to be increasing over the course of next week, perhaps bringing us some much-needed precipitation.
