One dead and one injured after shooting and stabbing in Phoenix

PHOENIX – One person is dead and another injured after an incident near Central Avenue and Camelback Road Thursday evening.

Officers said they were called to the area around 8:45 p.m. on reports of a fight.

There they found a man with a gunshot wound and another man with a stab wound.

The stabbed man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Rescue workers tried to treat the shot man, but he died at the scene.

Police are still looking for a suspect. The victims have not yet been identified.

This incident is not related to the Fabulous Phoenix Four event and does not pose an immediate threat to the community, police said in a statement.
