Ville Platte man arrested in connection with sexual abuse of underage relative

EVANGELICAL CHURCH, La. (KLFY)– An arrest was made after authorities were informed of a sexual assault between an uncle and his underage relative that occurred nearly a year ago.

After learning of the assault on June 12, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office further investigated and determined that inappropriate sexual conduct had been occurring between the uncle and his minor relative for approximately two years.

Jordan Cheyenne Vidrine, 26, of Ville Platte was arrested June 24 and charged with five counts of first-degree rape, five counts of oral sexual assault and five counts of indecent conduct with a minor.

Vidrine is being held without bail at the Evangeline Parish Jail.
